It’s officially summertime, and that means lots of things for Troop 170. Summer activities, special camping and service opportunities, summer camp, and high adventure trips for some. - Order of the Arrow Call Out will take place at our regular meeting this Monday, April 10. The Call Out is a ceremony where the Scouts who were eligible for election to membership in the Order of the Arrow will find out if they were voted in by the membership that was present at the March 20th Troop meeting. All arrow men should wear their sash, and all Scouts should be in Class A uniforms for this ceremony. (Actually, as a reminder, all scouts should be coming to all meetings in Class A during the school year.)
- April 21-23 - Backpacking Trip to the Benton MacKaye Trail in North Ga. - Section 8, all Philmont crew are expected to go, as this is excellent training for the summer.
- Leaders, scouters, and parents: Committee meeting will be this coming Monday, April 10, at 6:30 at the Scout Hut, with Board of Review to follow for any Scouts who have had their Scoutmaster conference and are ready to move up.
- Monies for Philmont and Rainey Mountain summer camp are due. If you are unsure of your balance, see Mr. Curry at Scouts on Monday night.
- Upcoming: May 5-7, Troop Camping with a historic twist. Old Clinton War Days, Civil War Reenactment! Real Cannons, guns, Union and Confederate Soldier reenactors on horseback & foot, old timey crafts, food, living history and more!Â
